This is a trip report for Woosong Scholarship Foundation Members trip to Indonesia (Jakarta and Bali) that took place from the 25th to the 29th of July 2019.

During this trip we have visited local University in Jakarta, did a lot of activities like a hand-made traditional Indonesian fabric called Batik, a tour of Jakarta City and visits to many historical places of both Jakarta and Bali.  

On the first day after arrival we have visited BINUS University, which is a partner university of SolBridge International School of Business. It was a great opportunity to meet new people and expand network to students at the BINUS University who were our buddies for those 2 days in Jakarta. At the BINUS University we had our first Indonesian language course, some of the students of BINUS University helped us out with Indonesian language and taught us useful phrases for our trip, we learn Indonesian culture and some facts about Indonesia as well.

On the second day we with BINUS University students went to the place where we made our own Indonesian traditional hand-made fabric called Batik. Even though the weather in Jakarta was quite warm, this experience introduced us the cultural aspect of Indonesia and Indonesians. In additional, we brought back to Korea the pieces of Batik that we have made during the workshop. 

In the evening of the same day we had a dinner with the Alumni in Jakarta. We were very glad and honored to meet some of the alumni of SolBridge International School of Business, who are currently working in Jakarta, talk and ask about the experience and life after the graduation of the university and ask for some advices for the after-graduation life.

The rest of the trip we have spent on the most beautiful and popular island of Indonesia, Bali. 3 remaining days we have spent visiting some of the famous places on Bali, and building relationship with the Woosong Foundation members through communication and travelling together. We have visited some of the beautiful beaches of Bali, visited local markets, tried some of the traditional food. One of the favorite places we have visited was the cultural park where we have seen the biggest statue of Hindu god Wisnu. That place really showed us the culture of Bali. 

In overall, I think trip to Indonesia was a very great experience for us to expand our network and explore new culture and new country. We were exploring Jakarta and Bali and at the same time we were building new connections with people from Indonesia and Korea as well. I am very grateful and honored to be a part of Woosong Scholarship Foundation.
